The Gift of Golden Years

The Mr Mo Project: A Photo Series

The Mr. Mo Project is a wonderful program that saves senior dogs from the shelter and covers their medical expenses for the rest of their life.  This photo series highlights some of the faces saved by their generosity. These are only 17 out of the 62 dogs in the program that have been given the gift of their golden years.  Without the funds and support from the Mr. Mo Project they would not be here today.  All expenses are covered by the program for the rest of their lives.  Whether abandoned at shelters, found as strays, or nearly given up on due to rising medical costs, the Mr. Mo Project gave each of these seniors a second chance at life, as well as so many, many more.

If these photos touch a soft spot and you would like to see even more senior dogs rescued from shelters and allowed to live out their golden years in a loving home, please consider donating to their cause.  If you can’t donate, please share their story so others can see it and perhaps be inspired to adopt a senior dog.

The love, endurance and vitality of all these old souls should not be underestimated!

The Professor

A huge thank you to the forever fosters who all brought their blind, deaf, immobile and arthritic dogs to the shoot – some from as far as three hours away.  You are all saints, bless you for taking in these otherwise lost souls and accompanying them on their emotional end of life journey.  And an incredible thank you to the selfless Mariesa who runs The Mr Mo Project with her husband and who hopped on board with my goal to photograph as many of the Mr Mo dogs as I could.  Without your enthusiasm and support I wouldn’t have been able to do it, and without the hard work and dedication you’ve given to this project, these dogs wouldn’t be here for me to photograph.

  • Olga Sentinella Vallvé - Do not understand because animals are abandoned and less when they are old because that’s when they need us. We have to thank them so much love you have given us.ReplyCancel

  • Ann Cluck - Seniors are more laid back. They carry in themselves just as much love and adoration as a puppy. They just show it in different ways. My senior pup rescued me about 5 yrs ago. She had been in the shelter from a puppy to 3/4 yrs old. She is my best friend and protects me from my snarling, biting peka-poo of 10 mos. Of course she is a black lab/border collie.ReplyCancel
